VinHMS is a technology firm for the hospitality sector under VinGroup. The company specializes in optimizing the business activities of enterprises with top-tier technological solutions. VinHMS, which leads the market in Southeast Asia, is a partner of many major names in the hospitality industry, including Expedia, Traveloka, Agoda, Booking.com, TripAdvisor, Google, and Amazon and was the first in Vietnam to join Hospitality Technology Next Generation (HTNG) – the international association for standardizing hotel software.
Challenge
VinHMS was conducting an amusement park management software project that aimed to streamline operational tasks, such as ticketing, admission control, visitor management, employee management, maintenance management, etc.
Even though VinHMS already owned a technical team to work on the project, the company still entailed more resources to shorten the development lifecycle and make progress. Unfortunately, the time frame was too tight to recruit and hire full-time personnel, thus VinHMS required additional manpower as soon as possible in order for the project to move forward. As a result, VinHMS determined to outsource for a dedicated team of developers.
Having partnered up with Orient Software once before, VinHMS had confidence that Orient was the right vendor to deliver just what the company required. The company ultimately made a choice to collaborate with Orient on a project for the second time.
Solution
In order to fill the staffing deficit of VinHMS, Orient Software assembled a team of four skilled developers, comprising one front-end and three back-ends, who were experts in .NET and Angular. Under the direction of a BA, the team from Orient joined the project right away and merged completely with its counterpart from VinHMS. Two months later, one more front-end developer was brought on board to help with the project’s expansion.
Not only did Orient’s team contribute more labor and improve technical capabilities, but we also committed guidance and proposals for the project’s overall success. VinHMS was receptive to suggestions from Orient’s team regarding new technologies throughout the lifespan. Particularly, the client admired when our front-end leader recommended that they should implement the Angular Micro-frontend architecture.
Impact
With adequate resources available, the project’s development proceeded more quickly and smoothly than VinHMS had anticipated. Orient’s team and its counterpart from VinHMS completed the first MVP and released it successfully with a multitude of core features only after four months. The client was impressed with our team’s efficiency and professionalism and appreciated the value of the contributions we made to the VinHMS project.
