The role of the Software Engineering Manager encompasses dual responsibilities: that of a Project Manager overseeing Operations and a Solution Architect driving the strategic direction for our Fintech project catering to our esteemed client in Australia.

Responsibilities:

Operation (70%):

  • Manage general operations, including leading and managing high-performing Software Developers and Quality Engineers.
  • Work with the CIO, Enterprise Architect, Head of Developer Platform, Head of Technology Operations, and Head of Software Engineers to ensure consistency.
  • Participate in a direct collaborative effort with the COO to drive project strategies aimed at delivering value to the client.
  • Track team progress, identify potential risks and issues, and implement appropriate mitigation measures.
  • Coordinate and communicate with stakeholders, ensuring effective and timely communication.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive team environment, promoting effective teamwork and communication.
  • Train and coach by leading by example to all members to build up a Healthy Agile Working Environment
  • Support and coach team leaders on how to structure performance improvement plans and effectively discuss improvement areas with employees.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive work culture by promoting employee engagement initiatives.
  • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.

Technical (30%):

  • Stay abreast of new technologies and best practices in software development.
  • Inspire technical excellence by setting and enforcing coding standards and best practice development methodologies.

Requirements:

Must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Finance, Economics or a related field.
  • Have a strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools, with a deep understanding of Scrum, Nexus, Nexus+, and Scrum@Scale principles.
  • Experience in leading and motivating high-performing, full-stack software engineering teams.
  • Communicate effectively and confidently with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
  • Demonstrate ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Have a proven record of managing a team of 50+ headcounts.
  • English Proficiency: Equivalent to IELTS Overall Band Score - 6.5 (Speaking and Listening >7.0)
  • Display proficiency in Microsoft Office, coupled with adept problem-solving skills rooted in data analysis.
  • Demonstrate a proven track record in proactively resourcing and coordinating project resources, focusing on effective build-up, plan, and allocation.

Nice to have:

  • Understand budget principles and ability to manage project budgets effectively.
  • Have PSM II certification preferred.
  • Possess a technical background. Exposure to application development in Angular, C#, .NET, and Azure preferred.
  • Indicate impressive proficiency in Power BI and a strong foundation in data-driven skills
