Responsibilities

  • Act as the technical lead for PHP backend systems.
  • Define, and evolve backend architecture, coding standards, and engineering best practices.
  • Lead the design and implementation of complex backend features, services, and third-party integrations.
  • Oversee system scalability, performance optimization, and security enhancements.
  • Mentor and guide senior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, technical coaching, and knowledge sharing.
  • Drive technical initiatives, including system modernization, cloud adoption, and legacy system migration.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable technical solutions.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in PHP backend development.
  • Strong expertise in PHP and deep hands-on experience with PHP framework such as Laravel, Symfony, or equivalent, with solid understanding of framework-level architecture and best practices.
  • Proven ability to design, and lead scalable, maintainable backend systems.
  • Solid understanding of SQL databases and complex data models.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD or DevOps collaboration.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical decisions, coding standards, and backend .
  • Hands-on experience with system modernization, migration, or large-scale refactoring.
  • Effective verbal English skills in video conferences and face-to-face communication.
  • Be a problem solver with great problem-solving skills.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS) and infrastructure-as-code (e.g. Terraform).
  • Experience with GraphQL, React/TypeScript, or modern frontend collaboration.
  • Experience working in integration-heavy or SaaS environments.
