In France, its Health and Safety Coordination (CSPS) business supports coordinators managing safety across construction sites nationwide. OPHSE (Operational Health, Safety, and Environment) is a strategic digital transformation project developed for DEKRA’s France subsidiary to modernize this CSPS business.

/ The situation /

A new platform in the planning phase for the French division

In 2022, DEKRA greenlighted the OPHSE project for its French division. The company set out a well-defined goal: to replace the legacy production system with a secure, modern platform. The deliverable was expected to streamline construction project coordination, improve stakeholder collaboration, and automate the generation of safety documentation required under French and European regulations. Following the successful rebuild of the legacy application (Aug2) and strong progress achieved across multiple other projects like Lbo2, Msk, and UVV, DEKRA once again entrusted the OPHSE project to its long-term partner, Orient Software.

Starting the OPHSE project from scratch called for a new dedicated team, purpose-built for the job and able to fully commit to it from day one.

To kick off the OPHSE project as planned, Orient Software assembled a cross-functional team to work closely with stakeholders, shape product vision, and deliver end-to-end expertise spanning system development, architecture, and cloud infrastructure.

Orient Software built a full-stack team of 5 engineers, including both frontend and backend developers. The roster included professionals carefully selected for the OPHSE project’s scope and requirements.

Orient's team successfully built a secure, scalable core for the OPHSE platform, engineered for Windows and Android, with the ability to keep coordinators working even without an internet connection, syncing data automatically once reconnected.
